Private Residence

Overlooking the tidal flats of Cape Cod Bay, this shingled cottage has been transformed on the interior with a complete rehabilitation while its modest exterior retains an understated simplicity. The living room, den, dining room and kitchen on the upper level are unified by a ceiling shaped into a shallow vault and lit by abundant fenestration. The casual ambience of life on the beach is expressed through the use of materials which recall the ubiquitous Cape Cod sand: light colored honed marble tiles, a pine beaded ceiling, maple wood cabinetry and light colored fabrics.

The master bedroom is organized around a built-in bed facing the Bay through floor to ceiling glass. The master bathroom, while open to the bedroom is concealed behind the bookcase pedestals.
