Menders, Torrey & Spencer, Inc. has designed new spaces and renovations for four branches of Brookline Bank, a growing concern named the Number One Community Bank in greater Boston. The projects included program development, design and execution of interior tenant fit-outs and storefronts that expressed the bank’s brand image as a welcoming community resource. For each project, we worked closely with the bank’s executive leadership to ensure that the work reflected the organization’s vision for revitalization. The projects in Brookline were staged to allow the branches to remain open during construction.
We have designed new branches in tenant fit-out spaces in Malden and Burlington and two renovations of existing neighborhood banks in Brookline. For each branch we adapted the bank's graphic brand and casework system to the specific site opportunities and constraints, maximizing visibility and accessibility. The renovated spaces invite the customer into the bank lobby while providing functional, efficient and safe back-of-house work environments for the employees. Each branch, while expressing thematic consistency, receives a unique design that focuses on a dramatic lighting element in the lobby.
